World Remains Silent

This is the burden I carry
The weight of the world
Rests on my shoulders
I have sweat my blood
and I must bear this cup

And the world remains silent

This is my crown to wear
The weight of mortal sin
Dug deep in my brow
I have sweat my blood
and I must bear this cup

And the world remains silent

These are my scars to bear
The weight of darkness
Spreads across the sky
I have sweat my blood
and I must bear this cup

And the world remains silent

These are bruises I bear
As the greedy men jeer
And gamble for what I wear
I have sweat my blood
And I must bear this cup

And the world remains silent

This is the cross I bear
As the blood drips down
In to broken vessels below
To make them whole again
And bring hope of redemption

And the world remains hopeful
As it waits to be rescued
By the one hung on a cross
Hopeful of the redemption
Creation has been groaning for

And the grave is left undone
By hope and resurrection

(And Heaven waits in silence
To see the response of Creation)
